The History of the Bridal Bouquet
In ancient Romans time; the bride would carry bunches of fragrant herbs and flowers to ward off evil spirits. Ancient Greeks carried Ivy as this was their symbol of unending love.
Today, couples like to coordinate their bouquet with the theme of their event, tying in all the colors they have chosen. In addition, its very common for the bride to toss her bouquet to the single ladies giving the lady whom catches it to be next to find a husband.
